  • Want to make an impact and give back by being a Buddy?

Our Grow YOUR Conference Tribe program is designed to support first-timers to the conference AND anyone who would like support to grow their sector network – their conference tribe – by pairing them with an experienced peer, known as a “Buddy.”

The program includes:

Sunday 27 September 4pm: Grow Your Tribe welcome event at The Refectory, University of Sydney (Before the main welcome event)

Monday 28 September: ‘Chill out’ space will be open during the conference meal breaks

Monday 28 September: Day 1 casual conference debrief at The Royal Hotel next to the conference venue. Buddies and participants are encouraged to attend.

Tuesday 29 September: Chill out’ space will be open during morning tea

Everyone will be supported to connect and interact with their tribe via the conference app chat.

Beyond the conference

The Grow YOUR Conference Tribe program is for the duration of the ATEM 2026 conference; however, participants may wish to keep in touch and continue to communicate beyond the conference.

Get involved

If you are keen to get involved with the program, please answer the questions about joining when registering for the conference . Alternatively, please contact conference@atem.org.au at your earliest convenience and before Sunday 13 September to support planning with:

  • Yes, I want to volunteer as a buddy (Time commitment: 4.5 hours of the activities listed plus communication with participants) OR
  • Yes, I want to ‘Grow MY Tribe’ and join the program as a participant. 

Buddies will be contacted with details of a pre-conference briefing.
Tribes will be formed and contacted by Friday 18 September 2026.
