Over the past three years, the ATEM conference has inspired those who work in our sector with strong and meaningful themes.
In 2023, we began with BRAVE, ushering in a new era and facing challenges with courage. In 2024, we explore PURPOSE and the real value that tertiary education brings to society and how we can create real change. Last year, we focused on IMPACT to see the difference we make in our teams, workplaces, sector and communities.
Now, in 2026 and for our fourth ATEM flagship conference, we turn to IGNITE.
Why IGNITE?
Our sector is full of great ideas and ambition, but how do we turn those ideas and our passion into real momentum and lasting change?
IGNITE is about that shift. Moving from plans and frameworks into visible, tangible action. It’s about focusing energy where it counts. About collaboration that sparks progress. About leadership with the courage to turn intention into impact.
IGNITE can be explored through four lenses:
Our challenges are bigger than any one organisation. This lens looks at how we learn from each
other, break down silos and steward the sector together.
How do we move from intent to action? This lens focuses on aligning people, systems and culture so
good ideas gain traction and capability grows.
Teams are where momentum is built, one meeting, one project, one decision at a time. This lens
centres on trust, confidence, momentum and navigating complexity together.
This lens invites you to reconnect with purpose, back your judgement and find energy for the work
that matters most, even in uncertain times.
